This past while I made some new types of critters – some were customer requests and others were ones I’d been thinking of trying…

It took quite a bit of time to get them the way I wanted but it was worth it…I absolutely love the way the little Zebra turned out – I just wanted to give him a hug! I’d been asked to make a cat for quite a while but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to tackle it – but now I’m hooked! I will definitely make more cats from now on! It was so much fun adding the features that really brought out his personality! I have to give my husband Ernie credit for the big bushy black whiskers – they were his idea – hilarious! And you can’t have a cat without thinking of a mouse, so I tried making a cute pink one!

The May long weekend, when we were raising our 3 wonderful daughters (who are now all grown up), was always exciting for us because it kicked off the beginning of the warm weather outdoor family fun time – backyard bbqs, picnics, sunday drives in the country, trips to Wasaga beach and Blue Mountain for the water slides and so much more – such happy precious memories…
Here’s a new batch of earth fairies, some of which will come to the Saturday Market with me tomorrow. I’ve tried something different, making a little wooly scene – a “mommy/daddy and me” pair of frogs on a lilly pad…what do you think? Yes, this was one of my husband Ernie’s suggestions! Also a new batch of colourful penguins, a black and white sheep inspired by the flock we drive past each morning as we head into town, and a new triple headed critter. Have a look!

What a wonderful sunny perfect day it was on Saturday at the Salt Spring Island Saturday Market!! It was the best weather day so far this year and everyone it seemed was out enjoying the sunshine! (What a difference from last week when it was so cold & windy brrr!)
